Senior Citizen Adventure Travel

Looking for a jaunt that will jolt your soul?  How about a Montana cattle drive, a safari in the Ngorongoro Crater or tugboating off British Columbia?  Let’s start off with a nice even dozen suggested by Forbes

I plucked a few of these off of my Best Travel Websites page and gathered others from here and there. Adventures Abroad specializes in small group tour experiences.   They tread paths through different countries and cultures.  Whether you are looking for a family holiday, an active adventure or a cultural journey, check out Adventures Abroad.

Looking for total class?  TCS & Starquest Expeditions is a world leader in private jet travel all over the world.  An ideal way to reach remote cultures is to fly on a Boeing 757 private jet with 2×2 VIP-style seating for only 78 travelers.  They set their own schedules, avoiding the hassles of commercial travel, and land in smaller airports closer to destinations, to provide the ultimate in luxury, convenience, and safety.  One trip that has always interested me is their Ancient Silk Road experience.  It would be a true adventure and runs from April 20-May 4, 2010.  This adventure starts in XI’AN, CHINA and travels on to the CAVES OF THE THOUSAND BUDDHAS, DUNHUANG, CHINA, ULAANBAATAR & THE GOBI DESERT, MONGOLIA, THE SILK ROAD OUTPOST OF SAMARKAND, UZBEKISTAN, SPIRITUAL HERITAGE OF ARMENIA, and ends up in EPHESUS & ISTANBUL, TURKEY.  A past traveler tidbit reads, “Nothing can properly describe ‘the trip of a lifetime’it must be experienced.” Oh yes, the price: Cost Per Person: $29,950 (double occupancy), $3,990 (single supplement) / China & Tibet Pre-Tour Cost Per Person:$5,900 (double occupancy) $900 (single supplement).  Just thought you might to know.   It if it sounds just a little high, try a similar tour called China Highlights Tours. Their 17-day tour runs $2,800.  If you are truly interested in the adventure tour route, Google can help too.

The Ultimate Travel Company is in the UK. They offer luxury holidays, tailor made tours and corporate travel services for individual and discerning travelers.  Many claim to be the “ultimate” and this one may come close.  Check them out.

Abercrombie & Kent has been around for a long time and they too have a private jet tour for those who wish to embark on a journey of extraordinary comfort and discovery, spanning the globe to encompass the finest wonders of nature, culture and history.  Don’t you just love the idea of a “private jet” tour?  This is a world premiere luxury travel company, combining comfort and authenticity in the world’s greatest destinations since 1962.
