All About Stairlifts

Senior Healthy Living

Senior citizens crave independence, and seniors live more healthy lives when they can be as independent as possible. But this becomes substantially harder when their mobility and senses begin to wane. Where once they could willingly combine full-time work with raising a family, they often require assistance for basic functions such as moving around their home, especially when it comes to going upstairs or downstairs.

An ideal solution to the difficulties posed by multi-story homes is to install a stairlift. This is a device which allows the user to navigate stairs by moving along a metal track which is fitted to the shape of the stairs, whether it is perfectly straight or bends at any stage. The motor is charged by a battery and it is designed so that it will never cut out while in transit, as there are charging points at either end of the track where it will be stationed while not in use.

Benefits of Stairlifts

Perhaps one of the most valuable benefits of stairlifts is the opportunity to remain in one’s own home longer than would otherwise have been possible.

Stairlifts are also incredibly easy to use; all you need to do is push a button on a joystick or toggle pad to move it up or down, dependent on where you need it to go.

This video from Home Healthcare Adaptations explains the different types of stairlifts that are available, who is most likely to need a stairlift, how much they cost and why they are so beneficial to the user, and indeed to the user’s family.
