Unusual Travel Ideas for Senior Citizens

You already know of my personal interest in this dream travel excursion so as I find good ones, I will share them with you.  Here are two more sites for planning your Around the World trip.

  1. http://www.airtreks.com/Default.aspx can help with an extended trip, either Around the World or to one region of the world.  It is a dream for most people and easier to do than most people think. They help thousands of international travelers every year, from all walks of life, and it is time for you to take the first steps to your dream. AirTreks has compiled this guide to get you started based on their experiences traveling the globe, since in our heart we are all travelers as well. A journey starts with one small step and this is just the beginning of an amazing journey for you.  Call 1.877.AIRTREKS to speak to a travel specialist.
  2. Air Brokers at http://www.arbrokers.com/.  I was surprised at the prices that ran from $1,500 to $2,700 for airfare.  Nota bene: These Fares are seasonal, subject to change and do not include government taxes and fees.

Travel Guard offers travel insurance to voyagers.  They have a lot of information besides offering insurance including a special offer whereby vacationers who share or vote for memorable travel mishaps can win a $10,000 vacation.  Their section on Travel News includes travel gadget news, tips and tricks, cruise news, airline news and more.  If you would like you can get a quote right on line.

Rudy Maxa, contributing editor with National Geographic Traveler magazine, is host and executive producer of “Rudy Maxa’s World,” a public television travel series.  There were years when the word “vacation” was most often synonymous with the phrase “doing nothing.” No more.  Many of today’s travelers of every age want vacations to mean more than lying on a beach. They travel to volunteer around the US and the world, to learn another language, to hike, bike, sail, ski, and participate in everything from cattle round ups to archaeological digs.  If you’re feeling like you’d like to renew your spirit, soul, or body this year while on vacation, this site provides good ideas.  jeb
