Senor Citizens Enjoy Budget Travel

Mar 16th, 2011 | By James E Becker | Category: Senior Travel

I do love my Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel as it provides a wealth of information on exactly that… budget travel. The most recent arch 2011 edition focuses on Dream Trips. I love “dream trips” especially those that are very reasonable and loaded with extras that seniors will enjoy very much.

I go through travel magazines by the dozens searching for good deal for seniors.  I mark up each one that looks good.  The first that I circled is called Oahda.  This one calculates exchanges between more than 190 currencies. If you are a seasoned traveler and love to visit a multitude of countries, this one is a good one for providing market rates.  Itranslate offers translation services in all the major European languages and in Japanese and Chinese. Accurate and rapid translation of all types of tender/bid documents (RFI, RFP, RFQ, RFB, etc.), technical manuals, contracts, websites, standards, specifications, marketing copy and press releases.  Convert clothes will provide information when you want to know precisely your size from country to country.

Convertbot  is an amazingly smart unit conversion robot for your iPhone and iPod touch. Convert between over 500 units across over 20 categories including currency, time, length, and many more. It’s even smart enough to convert between mixed units like Foot + Inches, Pounds + Ounces, Minutes + Seconds, and more! Converting units has never been more fun.

I love trivia and this one blows my mind.  By the numbers finds that the approximate number of wildebeests born each day in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park from December through March is 8,000 per day.  That’s a lot of wildebeests.  Great food for all those crocs that lie in wait as they cross the rivers.

If you might be interested in safari one day, Fodor’s Complete African Safari Planner lists 24 reliable agencies. Six of their unforgettable African wild safaris include:  Tanzania and Kenya, Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa.  Check out the various offers.

I have a dream to one day take the Trans-Siberian Rail spanning some 5,753 miles of track and two continents.  Bryn Thomas’s Trans-Siberian Handbook will help do just that.

And lastly Hawaii.  I do love Hawaii.  To plan an affordable getaway call 866-406-2782

That may keep you busy for a while. Have a great time planning that next trip seniors.  Hope to see you on one of those trips. jeb
