Seniors Are Attracted to ‘Old Broadway’

Broadway is a stretch in New York City that is known worldwide as the heart of the American theater industry and runs the length of Manhattan Island . I would suggest to seniors that if you are a first-timer in NYC that you take one of the many tours available, especially the open top buses. Here is another tour company and you can find many more by bringing up Google and input NYC Tours.  There seem to be dozens to choose from and each is guided by an expert. The hop-on, hop-off bus tours are operated on a fleet of new double-decker buses designed with top-deck-only seating to provide you with the best possible views of New York Attractions, neighborhoods and places of interest. It’s the best way to get around New York City! I am prone to GrayLine Bus Tours and there is one that rolls through Broadway.

Broadway abounds in history

In an era of dazzling 3-D movies and stunning IMAX films, Broadway theater entertainment remains one of the most popular attractions in NYC. Few NYC attractions match the excitement and spectacle of a Broadway musical. Featuring 40 Broadway theaters, high-profile stage actors, and world-class sets and costumes, New York Broadway shows are must-see entertainment for senior travelers in NYC.

The history of Broadway dates all the way back to the 1700′s, when the first NYC stage was built on Massau Street. This NYC theater held less than 300 people, and mostly presented Shakespearean plays from across the pond. It wasn’t until after the American Revolution – in 1798 – that the first great NYC theater was built.
