Senior Travelers Use Skype

Smarter Travel provides information and inspiration called Seniors on the Go at: (http://www.smartertravel.com/senior-travel/).   At the bottom of this page I found Cheap Flights for London by Booking Buddy (http://www.bookingbuddy.co.uk/flights-to-London/).  Haven’t been able to find a cheap ticket to New York or Paris? Why not stay in the country and travel to our capital? It’s one of the greatest cities in the world and has a lot to offer for a city break with plenty of cheap accommodation to be found. London is a great city to explore on foot as the well known landmarks and famous parks are all located in the city centre. Another plus is that the big museums do not charge an entrance fee and are free to explore. You may choose a flight from your preferred airport and then choose from one of four search carrier sites.  I chose BA (British Airways) as it is a favorite in my family.  I pulled up a date (Feb 9-16) from Chicago and got a price of $289 one way.  That is a pretty good price.  See what you come up with on this site.  I just can’t believe all the many sites available on the Internet for flight information.  It is really difficult to come up with the “best one” so you have to shop with care.  There are “deals” almost weekly.  I am still convinced that working with a travel agent is the best means to get the best deals as they keep up with those special prices.  It’s their job and they do it well.
If you regularly travel with your laptop computer and need to make long distance or international telephone calls, consider setting up a Skype account (http://www.skype.com/). Using your laptop and high-speed internet access, you can use Skype make inexpensive or even free international telephone calls Use Skype to Make International Telephone Calls.  This site will talk you through the whole process.  I have Argentine friends who regularly speak with family back home almost daily for FREE.  With Skype you can make free calls over the internet to other people on Skype for as long as you like, to wherever you like. It is free to download.

Using your laptop and high-speed internet access, you can make inexpensive or even free phone calls to numbers around the world.  Too good to be true? No, Skype is for real. Ask any active duty military member who has deployed overseas about Skype, and you’ll probably hear some very positive comments. Many military members set up Skype accounts for themselves and their families so they can phone home for free; Skype-to-Skype calls don’t cost you anything to make. So let’s talk about it!   jeb
