Senior Travel With Club Med

Oct 4th, 2010 | By James E Becker | Category: Senior Travel

Many senior travelers already know of Club Med. It has been around for a long long time. Their motto reads…”Where happiness means the world.”  They know the world and its best spots very well. The Official Name is Club Méditerranée, commonly known as Club Med. It is a French corporation of vacation resorts found in many parts of the world, usually in exotic locations.

It is considered the original all-inclusive resort and by now you know of my interest and experience with all-inclusive resorts. It is by far the best way to travel. Club Méditerranée was the brainchild of Gérard Blitz (entrepreneur), a former Resistant and Olympic medallist. When Europe was still struggling to recover from the devastation of the Second World War, he set up Club Med to promote a series of values, principles and habits that we now call “sustainable development”.

Club Med resorts are most often located in warmer regions and have over 80 all-inclusive resorts worldwide. Some all-inclusive resorts are designed for specific vacation interests. For example, certain resorts cater to seniors, while even more specialized properties accept couples only.

Other all-inclusive resorts are geared toward families, with facilities like craft centers, game rooms and water parks to keep children of all ages entertained. All meals, soft drinks and most alcoholic drinks are including in the price. Many also offer a selection of sports and other activities included in the price as well.

We have close friends who just returned from a Club Med vacation at the Turks Caicos Islands. He is an international flight attendant who knows the great sites to visit and flies the world. They loved the islands, sent us many photos of their trip and spoke highly of Club Med. On this particular trip they chose a Club Med all-inclusive adult-only resort that allows singles and couples to enjoy their getaway like they never have before. No children here, just adults.

My daughter and her husband do the same, however they prefer to enjoy Apple Vacations.  Do you search out “last minute deals” like most travelers do? If so, try this Club Med special. Have you been to Cancun? Ready to go back? Check out Club Med’s invitation at an all-inclusive resort called Cancun Yucatan. It is one of the best destinations for excursions to the Mayan cultural sites and beach vacations. Surrounded on three sides by lagoon, bay and sea, Cancun offers a variety of vacation experiences.

Here is a site called the Real Scoop on Club Med. You are invited to share your Club Med vacation experiences or search out great ideas before you go. Travelers post their reviews, images, tips and stories. It is a nice means to stay in touch, ask questions, plan your trip as well as to give advice to others .

The SEVEN-DAY WEEKEND provides guests with seven all-inclusive nights for the price of three with rates from only $999 per person. To experience these amazing resorts at this great rate, travel must be booked by Nov. 1, 2010. A Club Med all-inclusive vacation offers something for everyone.

Check out Club Med. You are in for a total vacation treat!        jeb
