Paris Resources and Hotel Deals for Senior Travelers

Nov 11th, 2010 | By James E Becker | Category: Senior Travel

At my most recent visit to Barnes and Noble I looked over several travel-oriented publications and came across these suggested cheap hotels in Paris.  All three sound plenty chic for me and from the descriptions on the Internet, I feel that could be comfortable in any of of them.  First of all I like their locations and in Paris this is primary.  It is nice to be near the Métro, the Seine and action quarters. The first one below had the most information available, but don’t count out the other two.

(1) Welcome to The Five Hotel Paris:  Located in the Latin quarter of Paris, the center of artistic and student life since the 1920s, The Five Hotel Paris is ideally situated for exploring and enjoying the very heart of historical Paris. Staying at The Five Hotel means being in the center of Paris, making it easy to get anywhere in Paris rapidly.  I noted that it is located in the 5th arrondissement (3, Rue Flatters – 75005 Paris) , which is the Latin Quarter, the Sorbonne (my alma mater) and one of the neatest areas for true “Paris action” in the city.  Just a few minutes from my favorite museum in Paris after the Louvre (le Musée de Cluny, a medieval masterpiece) and The Five Hotel Paris was recently redesigned from top to bottom, making it one of the best romantic boutique hotels in Paris. If you’re looking for a trendy luxurious hotel in Paris, without paying a fortune, The Five Hotel Paris may be your answer. They further advertise…”The staff at The Five Hotel Paris have already acquired a reputation for their friendliness and of course they speak English.”   Want some testimonials?  You can get their rates here.

(2) Hotel Jeanne d’Arc (Joan of Arc):  Recently renovated, the Jeanne d’Arc Hotel is located in the heart of historial Paris, in the famous Marais district.  Just off the charming St. Catherine Square, here you will discover a family friendly cost quiet place.  Its facade boasts lanterns and large authentic windows.  Rooms are provided with all modern comforts such as cable TV, phone, bathroom and toilet. You are invited to come and spend a relaxing time in this discreet district of romantic Paris. You can get their rates here.

(3) Hotel de Nesle in the heart of Paris:  The hotel is located just across the Seine River from the Louvre on the left bank and not far from Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedrale in the sixth arrondissement. You can get their rates here.
I know that you can find lots of other cheap hotels in Paris by searching the Internet. Let me provide you with three other sites to peruse:

Eurocheapo.com has expert reviews of inexpensive hotels in Paris:  Et Voila! Honest reviews of the best cheap hotels in Paris. Editors have reviewed scores of budget hotels in central Paris, each selected for its service, location, price, and a certain je ne sais quoi.  This site also provides links to a variety of sites and resources in and for Paris.
