Adventures Appeal to Seniors

I subscribe to a magazine called “Outside.” It is all about folks who live “the active life” seeking adventursome travels.  They jump off of high cliffs, kayak down waterfalls and surf 90′ waves, intermingle with wildlife, explore caves, jump out of airplanes and things like that. There is a wide variety of adventure tours that are offered in this publication and some may be of interest to seniors who love and seek adventure. Below you will find a listing of a few selected tours that I feel you might enjoy and that may “trip your  trigger”, and then will send you off on a marvelous adventure.

IWLS
The #1 in professional leadership training is a school that will help seniors in climbing, skiing, first aid training, kayaking and additional outdoor skills. University credit is also available. The International Wilderness Leadership School (IWLS) is an outdoor school that specializes in providing the highest quality guide training, outdoor leadership training, wilderness education, and technical instruction. IWLS leadership programs take place in some of the world’s most alluring wilderness, from glacier-capped mountains in South America to the wild rivers of Alaska to Africa’s wildlife-filled savannas. The programs include technical training in alpine mountaineering, sea kayaking, rafting, canoeing, rock and ice climbing, backcountry skiing/snowboarding, backpacking, and the like.

Climb Kilimanjaro
Even wanted to do that? Many have already done so. Consider joining this unforgettable adventure on Mt Kilimanjaro, one of the “Seven Summits!” Hikers climb Kilimanjaro via the Machame, Lemosho, and Rongai Routes. Each provides fantastic routes with incredible scenery. They are non-technical and give climbers a chance to climb at altitude amidst an amazing backdrop. This firm combines ascents of these routes with a descent of the normal route to complete a loop of the mountain.

The Best Way to See Alaska
The Best Way to See Alaska is by railroad. Alaska is a big place and the Alaska Railroad provides a great means to get around in comfort. They’ve put together several vacation packages that include rail transportation, tours, and hotels in the most popular, must see destinations.

Slickrock Awaits Seniors
Slickrock is a private island off Belize. This page is a summary of all Belize tours offered by Slickrock Adventures Trips. Visit three adventure travel trips that promise to thrill participants. Adventurous travel vacations to Belize include diving, surfing, paddleboarding, kitesurfing, caving to Che Chem Ha pottery cave, Tikal Mayan ruins, sea kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing, kayak surfing, sport fishing, kayak fishing, paddleboarding, surfing and that should keep you busy for a while.
