There were several posts with links to news articles over the past few days on my Facebook page that caught my attention. They were all about Social Security being eliminated, or at the least, privatized. (My friends post this stuff on my page because they know I’m going to have a response!) Well, here it is folks…
Social Security is not socialism. Socialism is an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources (Wikipedia). You and I learned about this in 8th grade, for heavens sake. You can’t take a concept out of context and expect it to make any sense. So for all you political candidates who want to destroy Social Security because it’s socialism, go back to 8th grade; you flunked.
