Health Care Reform: A Perspective for Senior Citizens

Dec 4th, 2009 | By Sharon Shaw Elrod MSW EdD | Category: Social Security & Medicare

SCJ Editors have reached consensus on health care reform:  We support it.  A variety of issues have been examined and discussed among our editorial staff, and although we do not agree with every aspect of each bill being considered in the Senate (and the one approved by the House), we do agree that our country needs universal health care coverage, and it’s long overdue.

Paul Krugman, New York Times op ed contributor, has a statement linked to here that we believe summarizes the issues and reasons why we need health care reform.  Rather than try to outdo this prize-winning editor, we choose to suggest you go to his editorial and read it carefully.  America needs health care reform, and Mr. Krugman tells us why.
