Seniors: The Fun of Clipping Coupons

Dec 3rd, 2009 | By Dr Jerry D Elrod | Category: Senior Moments Blog

There are so many ways to save a few bucks these days.  Clipping coupons is probably at the top of the list.  Sales come next.  In our family we have a chronic coupon clipper.  The disease has not proved fatal and has even introduced us to some restaurants and bargains we would not otherwise have known about.  Religiously, as the coupons arrive, now both by mail and on the Internet, our habit filled coupon clipper dives into them, carefully checking for the small print and expiration dates.  He is an expert.  We enjoy the rewards of his due diligence.

Car washes, three star restaurants, rebates on certain products, and all the rest are available for prudent shoppers.  Sometimes, there  are vetoes on certain items and foods, but most of the time we are somewhat adventurous.

In this time of prudent and careful shopping, it is wise to give coupons a chance.  Missing out on a good bargain may prove to be the difference in enjoying an experience and missing it altogether.  Another fun exercise is to keep a journal just to demonstrate how much is saved by using those coupons.  The case may be made for any sceptics who think it is waste of time to use them.

So, Clip and Go and Save and Enjoy!
